CHITRAL: from The News: The district administration and security forces beefed up security measures in the district following a threatening letter apparently sent by the militants from Nuristan province of Afghanistan on Friday, sources said.
The sources said the police received a threatening letter, which read that a group of 800 militants was on standby in Bagasht village near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and planned to target the Garam Chashma Police Station once the snow melted. The sources said the threat was hurled to attack the people belonging to the Ismaili sect in the area.Last year the militants attacked the Arando and Ursoon areas in near the Afghan border in Chitral district and killed personnel of the Chitral Scouts and law-enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, the forces along with the FC searched the area using helicopters and soldiers were deputed in Garam Chashma and Bagasht villages to thwart any attack.
