Peshawar ,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has said that he has been making all possible efforts both at provincial and federal level to give Sub-Division Mastuj (Chitral) the status of a district and it is hoped that it will be given the status of district during the tenure the present government. He added that giving the status of a district to Sub-Division Mastuj was a genuine demand of the people of Mastuj and the same is the only way to put an end to the backwardness of the area.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PPP Sub-Division Mastuj who called on him at his office in Peshawar, the other day and discussed with him matters related to the development of the area, problems faced by the people, organizational issues of the party and preparation for the upcoming general elections.
The delegation was headed by Abu Lais Ramdasi, President PPP, Mastuj, Sher Aziz Baig, Sardar Hussain, Zahid Hussain, Javed Ali Shah, Fida Ali Shah, Abdul Razaq, Akbar Hussain, Bashir Khan and Javed Khan were among the other members of the delegation.
The delegation expressed its feelings of gratitude to the provincial minister for striving hard to include chitral in category.A of the special package announced by the federal government for the militancy hit Malakand Division and waving off the commercial and agricultural loans of chitral.
The delegation demanded of the minister to arrange its call on meeting with Prime Minister and President to get a special package for Mastuj. The delegation also demanded to implement the announcements made by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Advisor to Prime Minister Asma Arbab Alamgir for chitral.
The minister assured the delegation that he would take all necessary steps to arrange its meeting with the Prime Minister and get its problems solved. He urged the party office bearers to complete the re-organization process of the party at union council and ward level as soon as possible so that preparations for the upcoming general elections could be started.
