Government committed to complete Lowari Tunnel: Arbab حکومت لواری ٹنل مکمل کرنے کے لئے مصروف

Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, said that the government is committed to complete mega Lowari tunnel development project in district Chitral, saying that the scheme will not only benefit to local, but will strengthen road linkage with Central Asia and other neighbouring states.Addressing at a review meeting regarding the Lowari Tunnel project here on Friday, he said that the Lowari tunnel is one of mega national level developmental scheme. Dr Arbab Khan said that the Lowari tunnel will not only facilitate the people of the area, but also strengthen our road links with Central Asian States and other neighbouring countries, adding that it will be helpful for promotion of trade, economy,
tourism, industry, agriculture and other broader spectrum of the areas.Federal Minister asked the NHA officials to ensure early completion of the tunnel. He said that the President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani want its early completion so that the promises made by the democratic government with the people could be fulfilled and the country witnesses an era of prosperity. Those who attended the meeting include the Federal Secretary of Communications Anwar Ahmad Khan, Chairman NHA Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Member Construction-I Aurangzeb Khan, Member Construction-II Yousaf Ali Khan, Member Added Projects Iltamash, Member Admn Rana Naseer Ahmad, Member Infrastructures and Management Planning Commission Lieutenant General (Retd) Shahid Niaz, and other high officials.On the occasion, the General Manager, Lowari Tunnel project, Colonel (Retd) Salman gave a detailed briefing and explained about overall progress of the project. The Chairman NHA Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi, while addressing during the meeting, assured the President and the Prime Minister that the NHA will utilise all its resources to ensure timely completion of all NHA projects, including Lowari Tunnel mega developmental scheme.
