Peshawar—A number of delegations; representing different walks of life called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar during his visit to Chitral at Governor’s Cottage, Chitral and apprised him about certain problems which the people of the district have been facing.
Amongst them also included, district heads of almost all the major political personalities of the country, lawyers, doctors, ladies, journalists, students as well as elders of Tehsil Arandu; the border area of District Chitral.
Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan and the senior government officials of the district were also present on this occasion. The joint delegation; representing different political parties was also comprised of Sardar Muhammad, Eid ul Hassan, Maulana Sher Aziz, Abdul Wali Khan, and Fazal Ahmad Advocate. Talking on this occasion, the Governor appreciated the spirit of unity and awareness of the people of the district in getting their grievances resolved and ensuring better future for them as well as their future generations.
The district, he added, has a great importance in all respects and he, himself having close association with the people of Chitral since long fully realizes the difficult situations, which the people of the area have been facing and the advantages for its future developments as well.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to each and every delegation and assured to help them to the utmost level in getting their proposals materialised at the earliest. Referring to various points raised by the members of the delegations, the Governor said, concrete and effective security re-enforcement has been deployed along the Pak-Afghan border; covering the entire border of the district which is spread over almost 450 km and there should be no worries in this respect.
While expressing his deep sympathies with members of the bereaved families of the Chitrali scouts, who embraced martyrdom during the recent incursion of terrorists from across the border, the Governor said, their sacrifices are the great national assets that will be remembered for a long time.
Responding to a request for expediting pace of work on the under-construction Lowari Tunnel as well as certain other proposals, the Governor said, the Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani will shortly be visiting the province and he himself will fully advocate their point of views for their early implementation.
