ANP leader demands work on Lowari Tunnel

PESHAWAR: Over 35,000 people have been registered during the Awami National Party (ANP) membership campaign in Chitral district, a party leader claimed on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference here, district president of the party Syed Abid Hussain Jan asked the federal government to restart construction work on the Lowari Tunnel project, which had been stopped six months ago.

However, he praised the provincial government for initiating developmental works across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the government succeeded in getting provincial autonomy, renaming the province and implementing the National Finance Commission award. The ANP leader said the provincial government had initiated a number of development projects in the under-developed Chitral district including the Chitral Bypass road.
