Chief of Army Staff (COAS) lauds bravery of Chitral scouts

RAWALPINDI (Online) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Chitral and surrounding areas on Wednesday. According to ISPR, COAS visit was in the backdrop of recent incidents wherein large number of Afghan terrorists attacked few posts of Chitral Scouts. The aggressors were pushed back successfully without resorting to excessive force, to avoid civilian casualties on Afghan side.

COAS interacted with the troops and commended their bravery, steadfastness and restraint. 

He also met the tribal elders and appreciated their cooperation.
Earlier, on arrival at Chitral, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Asif Yasin Malik.
