PESHAWAR, Nov 22 (APP): Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said that on the specific instructions of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani all arrangements have been finalized to speed up work on all ongoing NHA projects so that they may be timely completed. The minister said that government wanted completion of all important highways and bridges as soon as possible so that the public could benefit from it. The Minister expressed these views while talking to concerned officials during a high-level meeting.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said the Prime Minister has released more funds for Lawari Tunnel whereas work on Karakoram Highway has also begun. The Minister said we will not compromise on pace and quality of the work and no laxity and negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
The Federal Minister was of the view that the democratic government has been gradually honoring all promises made to the people and development work in communications, like other sectors was continuing at full pace. On this occasion, a detailed briefing was also given to the Minister on all NHA projects.
