LAHORE:  A SEMINAR on the topic, Nuclear Pakistan towards a Welfare State, was held by an NGO at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here on Sunday.

Addressing the seminar, former Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Allah Nawaz said that corruption was at peak in Pakistan and state was being run by the corrupt. He said politicians were united for their benefits in corruption which could only demolish when the corrupt politicians would be punished according to a proper act. He further said the country was in the hands of the youth and only they could bring about a revolution.

President of Pakistan Engineers Forum, Imtiaz Shah said that once again, the government was deceiving the nation in the name of budget. As Pakistan was a nuclear state, almost 1.8 million people were holding 34 percent resources of the country. He said the country could not be called a welfare state because its polices were made by others. He said the country could not make progress until and unless corruption was removed. Inamul Haq also said that due to the lack of education, the intellectual level was very low in the country and without education it could not become a welfare state.

By using the nuclear power, the country could be made better for the people, he said.

Ibrahim Mughal, chairman Agri Forum Pakistan, said the youth could be trusted and things could change if people show their stance aggressively against the corrupt government. The media was delivering its best but strong support of economists was needed and they could bring about the change in the society. Hafiz Muhammad Hassan, anchor Ajmal Jami, Sher dil Khan, senior producer Asim Dogar, Faisal Sheikh and other renowned personalities also participated in the event.
