The two members of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial assembly from Chitral - Saleem Khan and Ghulam Muhammad have emerged as the richest from among other lot of this hilly district, meaning thereby that they have learnt the 'rules of the business' very quickly.According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the total value of assets owned by Saleem Khan, provincial minister for population welfare KP, is Rs 15.01 million.
The asset details of the minister released by the ECP revealed that he has a residential house at Kandojal, Lotkoh worth Rs 25,00,000 and under construction house in Chitral valuing Rs 20,00,000.
Besides, he has a plot valuing Rs 40,00,000 in Islamabad.Saleem, like his other fellow parliamentarians has inherited agriculture land worth Rs 55,00,000 in Chitral.
He also mentioned in the business column that he owns a general store namely 'Garamchashma general store' which is worth Rs 8,00,000 - he has been running before entering politics.
The vehicle column of the asset declaration form, in which the MPs are advised to mention the vehicles they own, the minister like majority of the lawmakers, has declared that he had no vehicle.Saleem has a current account in Habib Bank Limited, Chitral branch where he has only Rs 51,000.
He has Rs 1,75,000 bank deposit in HBL Peshawar and a saving account in Bank Khyber (BoK), Chitral branch with only Rs 1,00,000.
In the furniture column, the minister has mentioned that he has furniture and fixtures worth Rs 2,00,000.
Another member provincial assembly of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from Chitral Ghulam Muhammad, has immovable residential property worth Rs 4,11,00,000, commercial property at present market value of Rs 3,88,00,000 while recent worth of his agriculture land is Rs 1,20,00,000.In his moveable assets, he has petrol pumps valuing Rs 5,00,00,000 and the income from the capital is Rs 2,00,00,000.
The MPA has vehicles worth Rs 1,38,00,000.
In the cash in hand column, he has Rs 15,00,000.
The value of his furniture is 11,00,000.
In the liabilities column, he has obtained unsecured loans of Rs 2,12,00,000 and loan by mortgaging land with Bank of Khyber, Chitral branch Rs 2,50,00,000.In the detail of his bank accounts, according to the annexure submitted to the ECP, Ghulam Muhammad has three accounts in Bank Al-Falah Chitral.
In his saving account, he has only Rs 29,667, current account Rs 46,824 and another current account with only Rs 4,544.He has a current account in the Bank of Khyber Chitral, in which he has only Rs 55,141.
He has three accounts in UBL Chitral - saving account Rs 28,409, current account in the same bank Rs 11,39,663 and another saving account with only Rs 5,708.
The MPA also has a current account in Allied Bank Chitral, where he has shown Rs 2,14,313 while in another current account at the same bank, he has deposit of Rs 199 - total amount of nine accounts in the four different banks in Chitral is Rs 15,24,468.
