CM asks PM to allocate funds for Lowari Tunnel

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti in a letter has requested Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to allocate additional resources for the timely completion of the Lowari Tunnel Project.

A handout said the chief minister has sent the letter to the prime minister at the request of the Awami National Party, Chitral chapter’s district president and general secretary. The ANP Chitral office-bearers brought the issue into the notice of the chief minister during a meeting on Monday.

Hoti said the Lowari Tunnel Project was the lifeline to the development of Chitral and stability of its economy, adding that more resources were required to complete the mega project. The ANP Chitral office-bearers thanked the chief minister for paying heed to their request, the handout added.
