Chitral police recover 425kg explosives

PESHAWAR – Chitral police recovered 425 kg of explosives and 16 cartons of safety fuses December 4 from a house in Chamar Kun in, police officials said.
“Police arrested Ziaduddin, the son of a former Jamat-i-Islami district amir, Ghulam Muhammad, and registered a case against him under 5 Explosive Substance Act,” police sub-inspector, Ghaffar Shah, at Chitral police station told Central Asia Online by phone.

Police raided the house on an intelligence tip off and found 17 cartons of dynamite with 25 kilograms each of explosive. Fourteens cartons of black colour and two cartons of red colour safety fuse cable were also recovered, he added.

Police said the accused said the explosives were kept for constructing roads in hilly areas by a relative who is a contractor.
